Tony for Model Number LAT8214AAL At what point can you determine if a transmission needs replacing? My problem is a loud bang each time the agitator reaches its (counterclockwise) stop during the wash and rinse cycles. There seems to be no other problems. No apparent leaks and no other abnormal noises. I replaced the belts but that did not help. I'm considering changing the mounting stem seal kit and the tub bearing kit and I'm wondering if at that point it's worthwhile to go ahead and change the transmission?
