Adrian for Model Number 59668042801 Is the start-dev/capacitor the defrost timer? If not, where is the defrost timer on this model? Or is it the adaptive defrost control and where is it located? Thanks...Adrian
Answer Adrian, No, the WPW10197426 Start Device assembly is not the defrost timer. Your refrigerator does not have a defrost timer or an adaptive defrost control assembly. Your refrigerator has an electronic control board / digital display WPW10503278 . The adaptive defrost control circuitry is contained in the assembly. The control board is located inside the housing WPW10464769 mounted to the ceiling of the refrigerator compartment. To access the control, you'll need to remove power to the refrigerator, on the back side of the housing you should see two slots at the roof line, use a flatblade screwdriver, insert the end into the slot and press in on the plasic tabs, and pull down on the rear corner(s) of the housing, this will release the housing from the ceiling liner, disconnect the wire harness connectors, and release the tabs that hold the board to the housing. Reverse the procedure, re apply power and program the personality code (located on the serial plate tag) into the control. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 19, 2013
