Brian for Model Number whirlpool rbs305pdq16 Just did a self cleaning on the oven and it no longer heats. With everything I'm reading, it appears to be a bad Thermal overload, but what I'm reading here is that it could be a bad thermal sensor. How can I troubleshoot to verify the problem without buying a new one of each?
Answer Hello Brian. If the thermal overload WP9759243 is bad, it will read open for continuity. Check and see if the sensor reads 1100 ohms at room temperature. If so, it is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
