Leapyear for Model Number Series 70 Top loader I only get hot water to enter tub regardless of where temp. is set for wash cycle. Rinses cycle is designed to be always cold regardless of wash setting and it works fine, fills with cold water. Could this be a water valve problem?
Answer Hello Leapyear. No, this water valve 285805 does not use a thermistor. If the unit is working on rinse, but not on the others, the water temperature switch may be bad on the unit. You need to test the switch and see if it is changing. If there is no water temperature switch and it is controlled by the timer, you will need to replace the timer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
