Marilou for Model Number MTW5800TW0 The washer continued to fill to overflowing. I have run the washer and unplugged it. The water stopped, so it doesn't appear to be the water inlet valve. The washer stopped filling when unplugged so I replaced the water level switch. I also replaced the pressure tube that came with the water level switch. The water still continues to fill to overflow. I blew air through the air dome. The air dome looks pretty dirty though. What should I do now? Do I need to remove the air dome and clean it out? If so, how do I do that?
Answer Marilou, You can't remove and clean the air dome. You'll need to take the hose and blow in the end that attached to the water level switch. This ususlly clears any clogs in the tube and air dome. You may want to add a cup to a cup and a half of white distilled vinegar to the tub, and partially fill (1/2 to 3/4 full)the washer with hot water and let it set for 30 to 60 minutes, drain the washer, then blow in the tube. Since you have a new water level switch, check and make sure there is a "tight" fit of the hose on the air dome at the tub and at the water level switch connector and no twists, kinks, or pin holes in the hose.
