William, A couple of quick easy checks to make. Open the loading lid 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up, try to move the lid up and down and wiggle it side to side. If there's too much play, check or replace the lid hinge balls WP211726. Check the lid bumpers and make sure they're there and no too damaged. Close the lid, raise the lid 3/4 to 1 inch open. If you hear the lid switch activate before the 1 inch is met, you'll need to adjust the lid switch assembly, it's set too sensitive if the lid hinge balls, and bumpers aren't damaged.
