William B. for Model Number LAT9806AAM My washer works fine at times then on occasions it will stop in a cycle, if I tap the left side of the machine it will start back up. Over the past years, I replaced the timer and lid switch and belts and the machine is level. The only thing I see is the hot water hose is swollen but its not plugged up, I am replacing it. Any help would be great
Answer William, A couple of quick easy checks to make. Open the loading lid 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up, try to move the lid up and down and wiggle it side to side. If there's too much play, check or replace the lid hinge balls WP211726. Check the lid bumpers and make sure they're there and no too damaged. Close the lid, raise the lid 3/4 to 1 inch open. If you hear the lid switch activate before the 1 inch is met, you'll need to adjust the lid switch assembly, it's set too sensitive if the lid hinge balls, and bumpers aren't damaged. Read More...
