Larry Lucey for Model Number Kitchen aide KSRS27QFWH00 I recently bought and replaced my ice maker and the replacement went as expected. I watched a video and things appeared to go smoothly the new item is not making ice. I read where it could take up to 72 hours to stabilize and begin producing but it has been over a week and still nothing. What are the obvious things i should check to get it going please? It shipped on 5/28 but i installed it on 6/10. The part ordered was AP2984633 (4317943)
Answer Lucy, Try taking an insulated wire and stripping the ends about a 1/4" and placing each end into the T and H terminals on the head of the icemaker. The icemaker should start to cycle. If it does then once you hear a click then pull the jumper wire out. You will want to allow the icemaker to cycle and see if it fills with water. If it does not then check for the fill tube to be frozen and if it is not then the water valve is most likely faulty. If the icemaker does not cycle then you will need to determine if the fuse on the side of the icemaker is blown. If it is then it would need to be replaced. Read More...
