I was horrified that I'd have to call a handyman or an appliance repair service and pay hundreds of dollars. But then I came across Appliance Parts Pros, and followed their published video and used their replacement part. $14 and 48 hours later, I had a working dishwasher. Thanks guys. Shipping was prompt (I received the part in less than two days). And the video was accurate. The only problem I ran across was that one of the springs snapped out and flew away. I had to hunt around the kitchen for 20 minutes before I found it under the fridge. I suppose I should have used the black tape to secure the spring in addition to the white latch, as the video says. Also, the blue button couldn't just be pushed. I had the clip it away / shave the top with a clipper to make it come loose.
