How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP2153310 / 5309918806 Light Switch (Door-Activated)

Ordered the switch. Watched a video on how to install at AppliancePartsPros. Installed switch. Light didnt come on. Ordered and installed light socket as per instrs found at AppliancePartPro. Light back on. Since we are " techies by trial and error", We surely do appreciate not only the fast service, ease in finding parts, and most of all the help in installing the parts. Installing the switch took about 15 minutes. Installing the socket took over 30 minutes. (the info said to take off the panel). On our model we only had to pop out the old socket, disconnect and reconnect the new one. 

Easily found replacement part on AppliancePartsPros.com, ordered it a a low price, and gladly paid a small amount for shipping. I had the part in a very few days and was able to replace it easily with assistance of an on-line video they provided. Couldn't be easier, and I'm appreciative of how readily you can repair an item yourself and save a lot. 

I ordered parts from you. Did NOT replace the switch yet though, old one still works (20 yrs old). Took a bit of slower work to extract the socket But got it finally and installed the bulb....all good! Thanks. 

Replaced switch. 

I ordered the part, used a small screwdriver to wedge out the old one, uncoupled the two wires and removed the old switch. I attached the two wires to the new part, wedged it in place and it was done. 

Ordered a replacement, watched a YouTube video, replaced switch. 

The thermal cut-off kit fixed the dryer and the switch fit perfectly in the refrigerator. The one that is called for by the appliance model number was $20, but I found another switch that looked exactly like the original one and it was only $7. I took a chance on it and it was perfect. 

Took light fixture hown and replaced it. 

3 wires exposed . tried to get a switch that had 3 prongs. 5309918806 demonstration tape shows 3 prongs.( not accurate). picture of switch is correct (2 prongs). im no expert but all i wanted was on off switch anyway. simple ohm and voltage reading on 2 of leads says wire these 2.. did so by putting lead thru hole in prong. and secured. plugged in and opened and closed door at least 10 times. each time light came on I felt this sense of joy that I fixed it.
