How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4412060 / WB27X11033 Capacitor High Voltage

When I called the customer service tech said they suspected that either the magnetron or the diode had failed. The GE Adventism is 11 years old and as it was apart I decided to replace both parts as well as the capacitor. I had ordered the parts before I took the microwave out of the built in cabinet (needed help) and after testing components it appeared the diode had failed, the magnetron and the capacitor appeared ok although much of the color had changed on the tip of the magnetron. A replacement for the Microwave is about $2000 and decided to install all the new parts. Working well and appreciated the customer service help. 

Replaced magnetron and capacitor. Thank you for your help and parts I received were genuine GE parts. 

Replaced both parts plus diode. 

Traced it down to the capacitor after watching a video on how to test various items. 

Changed capacitor and magnetron 

After some research, and based on the symptoms, consulted with repair person and figured it was the most common 3 parts (magnetron, capacitance, diode, and threw in a new fuse). So spent $190, and service tech came, replaced them, all good again. All done in an hour. 

Like others, I don't have to diagnose the issue so I replaced the capacitor, diode, and the magnetron. Definitely need magnetic screw driver for screws around magnetron..all in all, pretty easy repair. 

Replaced parts ordered. 

After research online and learning the 3 most common parts to cause this non heating issues were the magnetron, capacitor, and/or diode I ordered these 3 parts and replaced all 3 as recommended. The replacement was very straightforward and access to all 3 parts was available after taking top cover off. I made sure to discharge the capacitor, then replaced all 3 parts. Microwave works again! 

I had a repair person install the three parts I bought from AppliancePartsPros.com and it fixed the problem with the microwave.
