How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2071638 / WR55X129 Dispenser Control Board

Looked up the part online, there was a video 'how to' associated with the part. Watched the video and ordered the part. Arrived the next morning so, I installed it and everything was just as in the video. Very simple and fast (20 minutes!) repair. Thank you! 

The video was right on the money !!!!! It took me 15 minutes and with the help of the viedo i changed the control board for the front of my fridge. Just amazing !!!!! 

Replaces broken dispenser crank, rubber sealer and solenoid. This did not solve the problem. Then I replaced the circuit board. The first items were bad also, circuit board had a fried component. 

Replaced the part I ordered on line from AP pros. on line and watched there video on how to was vary helpful 

Our refrigerator is 20 years old and runs well except for the failed part. We reviewed the AP video before and during the fix. It was very useful and easy. We had looked at another video but yours was more detailed and helpful. We spent about $85 to repair the board and spent about a half hour. Without Appliance Parts we would have probably spent close to $200 for a repairman and the parts. Great job! 

Pull of decorative plate Disconnect wire plugs Unscrew 4 screws holding cuircit board holded Remove circuit board and holder Unscrew 2 screws holding cuircit board in housing Replace board with new one Reassemble I reverse order Check operation. Too about 15 minutes 

Went to this web site, identified the part and watched a video to learn the repair. Done. Really simple and saved me at least $100'in service labor. Thank you !! 

Obtaining the part number was easy to look up on the internet. Your company name came up and after checking about the high cost of the knob, I decided to bite the bullet and fix this inconvenience once and for all. After I ordered the circuit board and knob all I did was to monitor the arrival of same. In the meantime, I copied the video, which your company provided. This was a blessing in disguise in replacing the bad parts. I would refer anyone, who is handy with a few tools to fix it himself, for parts from your company. 

Replaced the Ice deflector, Part Number: WR17X10282, plus I found the solenoid frozen up ant the control board burned. Replacing these parts plus the ice door arm fixed the problem. The video for the ice deflector greatly helped the entire repair.
