How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3772889 / WD28X10128 Silverware Basket

Ordered new one-found it on your website for MUCH cheaper than the replacement from factory. Got it the next day-THANKS!!!! 

I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. On previous repairs, the old drain hose was tricky to reinstall, so I replaced it and the hose clamp.The silverware basket had holes in the bottom and required replacement. I had some broken tine clips. 

Dishes were coming out wet and greasy so thought the heating element may have been burned out but it tested positive for continuity. Replacing the thermostat fixed the problem and dishwasher heats and creates steam like it should. Testing the continuity on a multi meter won't tell you anything because a broken thermostat and a functioning one both test 0 for continuity at room temp. 

Replaced the basket and followed the video to replace the wheel and stud. 

I disassembled the upper wash arm water supply tube and wash arms, inspected, and cleaned out the tube and water jets in those arms that were blocked with debris ( lemon and orange pits ). Installing the upper wash arm supply tube with the hub fitting required that I tighten the mating fitting from under the dishwasher . This was required because, when I installed the new tube and fitting in the machine the first time, the fitting was about a quarter to a third of a rotation too loose with the upper fitting lined up for the take off position for the water tube. So keeping the upper tube and fitting lined up while tightening the lower mating fitting ( above the motor) was the solution . I was going to use just the tube ( when I originally started the repair ) but I broke the white plastic retaining snap on the original hub fitting when disengaging the tube from the hub fitting. I was grateful that the new tube came with the hub fitting as an assembly. Also note that the original hub fitting was tight before I disassembled it. The bottom spray arm of the dishwasher must have gotten stuck on the element from something in the utensil basket. That’s where things went BAD! After 2 days of melted food processor, magic bullet, real stuff....we pulled everything out and found the problem. After a little bit of research, I found you guys! Ordered the part and they had it to me in a few days. It was cheaper than purchasing at the dealer. Installation required removing the old basket by the handle (no tools required). New basket had to have the separators installed (no tools required). Once installed, the basket was dropped in place and I was good to go again. Replaced the top and bottom racks and silverware basket

The package arrived on the day expected, spent five minutes unwrapping and replaced all parts. It was the easiest repair job I have done in years.
