How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2042206 / WE1X1192 Door Strike

I just bought a condo, to my surprise my dryer door won't latch. I called and a cherry helpful lady helped me order the parts needed and provided a link for the repair. It was a simple fix, and I am proud I could do it myself with a little assistance. 

Ordered parts and replaced parts. 

Replaced latch and strike. 

Removed broken pieces and replaced with new one Plus I watched your video. Which was very helpful 

Replaced both the strike and the latch. Getting the old latch out of the door was a little tricky. 6 screws to gain access to the latch and 2 screws for the strike plate. Very easy and far cheaper than having a technician come out. 

I had purchased both the strike and latch, in the event I needed to replace both. However, I only needed to replace the latch. Since I had the front disassembled and the lint trap opened up, I used took the opportunity to clean out the ducting and fan, making the dryer operate more efficiently. The video link, provided on the latch part page, was spot on,making made the prep and repair vary quick. 

Found broken strike, watched a quick u tube video, order part. 

Ordered new latch. 

Ordered clip. Screwed it on.
