How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6889035 / WE04X28977 Door Switch

With the parts in hand and the how-to video supplied by the parts provider. The repair was simple. I am never ordering from anyone else, these folks are the absolute best! 

Replaced the switch in the door 

The door switch would randomly close the contacts and turn the drum light on, even while the appliance was just sitting idle. R&R of the switch. Ordered a new switch from AppliancePartsPros.com. The switch arrived in a couple of days. Popped the old switch out, swapped the wiring plug, and inserted the replacement switch. Only tool needed was a thin putty knife to release the switch. Problem solved in ten minutes. 

Looked one up on the interwebs, found the OEM switch on AppliancePartsPros.com, ordered it and it came in 2 days. Installed it and works perfectly. Awesome service. 

Replacing the glides was easy. However, when I opened the front of the appliance. I must have pulled one of the wires for the safety switch. It took me a day to figure it out. Be careful when disassembling and assembling your appliance so as not to damage or disconnect any wiring 

Removed exterior panels, cleaned all venting, replaced outlet thermistor and thermostat. Pressure washed all removable parts. Reassembled. Now working as it should. 

I followed a video tutorial and used the part ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com and my dryer is now up and running. 

Take dryer door off. Excellent service. 

Couldn't find a DIY video that showed fixing modern dryers, but the concepts were essentially the same. While the switch was harder to get to than I thought, once I was able to pull it out, the new part went in perfectly. Was happy with AppliancePartsPros.com. I wished they had sent via UPS instead of FedEx, but overall pretty satisfied.
