Gregory L Cape Coral , FL June 06, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GLD5560L00SS Interlock switch was broken First off OUTSTANDING experience with AppliancePartsPros.com! Ordered my parts on Tuesday and they arrived Wed morning!! Replaced interlock switch plunger and spring, which was obviously broken compared to the new one. This solved the problem of my door not latching but the machine would still not turn on. So with two interlock switches on the door, one had to be bad. So decided to start by replacing one switch at a time until I found the bad one. If both were bad I would just buy a second switch. First switch replaced turned out to be the bad switch! Problem solved! Machine now latches properly and starts like it is supposed to. Quick fix all for $24! As far as the filter nut hub goes, I broke the little tabs, so that was a quick swap out. Purandar D North Easton , MA February 22, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GLD5500L00WW Making noise from inside when dish washer was in use All four locking tabs in the Fine Filter Hub Nut were broken. The tabs easily break apart during removal of the nut for cleaning the drainage system underneath. When this nut is loose, the lower spray arm wobbles causing noise during wash and or rinse cycle. The metal bearing (an O ring basically) helps rotation of the lower spray arm smooth. Pictorial illustration for these two parts is very clear cut. Therefore, repair of the dish washer was easy and very gratifying. This washer is in use since 2005. It is still working very nicely and practically noiseless. However, it needed minor part(s) replacements from time to time. Appliencepartspros is indispensable for any DIY person(s). It saves time and certainly a lot of money for the home owners. Thank you! Dennis T Ridgefield Park , NJ January 22, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher CDW9380N20SS Not thoroughly cleaning dishes I disassembled the upper wash arm water supply tube and wash arms, inspected, and cleaned out the tube and water jets in those arms that were blocked with debris ( lemon and orange pits ). Installing the upper wash arm supply tube with the hub fitting required that I tighten the mating fitting from under the dishwasher . This was required because, when I installed the new tube and fitting in the machine the first time, the fitting was about a quarter to a third of a rotation too loose with the upper fitting lined up for the take off position for the water tube. So keeping the upper tube and fitting lined up while tightening the lower mating fitting ( above the motor) was the solution . I was going to use just the tube ( when I originally started the repair ) but I broke the white plastic retaining snap on the original hub fitting when disengaging the tube from the hub fitting. I was grateful that the new tube came with the hub fitting as an assembly. Also note that the original hub fitting was tight before I disassembled it. Thank you for your prompt delivery of the service parts and your service videos that showed what to expect when servicing this machine. Chris K St Louis , MO October 10, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GLD5800L15BB Severe lime deposits in dishwasher. Attempted to clean by running vinegar solution multiple times. This did help but the spray arms were too clogged and had to be replaced. Followed several videos supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com website to take apart the dishwasher insides. This allowed me to access the bottom filter screen and clean out all the accumulated lime deposits and showed me how easily the parts could be replaced. Most of the time spent was doing a good cleaning of the lime deposits. Approximately 2 hours just cleaning. Took approximately 15 minutes to take the dishwasher apart and the same time to put it back together. It was easy to find the parts I needed from the website. Read More...
