Christopher K Leesburg , VA December 31, 2018 Deteriorated GE profile dishwasher tub gasket The job is very straightforward and easy to do- the hardest part was figuring out how the gasket fit into the washer. The directions state the white dot is the upper middle of the washer (right where the door latch is) and that's correct, but be sure to place the gasket so that the white dot is not visible/pointing out. I placed a few small dabs of clear silicone caulk where the gasket seats around the washer- this definitely helped keep it in place. Also, be sure to purchase the gasket spring as well just to plat it safe. I should have also replaced the lower door gasket while I was doing this but didn't order the part... Robert C Bellingham , WA July 29, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW9880J00SS Leaking at door. New tub gasket, gasket spring, stainless steel screws, washers and nyloc nuts. Dishwasher was leaking at door. Tub seal had a tear so I replaced it and spring. Bottom door seal rivets had corroded and bottom seal was not connected to door. tried dishwasher without bottom door seal and still leaked. Took door completely off and used stainless screws and nuts to attach bottom door seal to door. So far, no more leaks. I think the bottom door seal just works as a breakwater to keep the wash cycle agitation waves from going out lower door. A little bit of work, but no more leaks. Shannon T Mesa , AZ October 01, 2018 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW8280J10SS Our dishwasher started to leak water out on the floor I found the Appliance Parts Pro site on the internet and look into what could be causing the leak. There were two areas that were mentioned could be the problem. The Pump Connector and the Tub Gasket. I found the videos on how to replace them and watched them a few times. felt that I could do the repairs and ordered the parts for a two day delivery. The parts came as promised, I got out the tools suggested out and went to the task. I had the videos up and ready on my tablet just in case. Every thing went just as it was described in the video except that my supply line, drain and power cord had to go through two openings with a space in between and at an angle, so that was a bit tricky, but not the fault of the video but my kitchen design. The opening under the sink was a bit small for me due to a center post, but we got it done.Since I went ahead and replaced the tub gasket I did two projects at once and also took the time to use CLR to clean out the inside of the dishwasher to make it really nice and new again. Richard W Monclova , OH December 31, 2017 Dishwasher was leaking onto the floor Called GE repair. $250 later and some un-needed parts, still leaking. I read you schematic on-line and saw where the gasket had been torn. Watched one of your videos on gasket replacement, and ordered the parts. They arrived a couple of days later. It took me maybe 15 minutes and 1/10th of what the GE repair cost me. No more leak. I will consult this site for all future GE appliance repairs. Read More...
