Matthew B York , PA March 14, 2015 The door latch broke in the closed position First I had to work a screw driver in to wedge the old latch sideways just to get the door open. Then I took the front control panel off. I took off the four wire connectors to the latch assembly and the four screws holding the latch assembly to the control panel. Getting the new part in was very easy - all went back together in less than 10 min. Iara C 102-45 , NY February 21, 2017 Appliance: Model GSM1860JSS The door latch was broken I bought the handle/latch asm blk for my GSM1860JSS dishwasher. Arrived very fast, fantastic service. 1) Unscrewed the screws that hold the inside and front of the door. Only the top ones should be sufficient, as you only need to remote the black control panel in order to change the latch. 2) I unscrewed the old part. 3) I disconnected the power cables in the old latch part (there are 4) one by one and transferred them to the new latch. The power cables need to be pressed on one of the sides in order for them to release. 4) I screwed everything back together. The whole process took me about 15 minutes. It worked beautifully and I saved a lot of money. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
