How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3184444 / WD13X10007 Handle, Latch

Ordered parts, waited for them to arrive Took door apart, installed new parts Put door back together shut door (it stayed shut) Washed dishes, opened door (it opened) Dishes were clean (no water on floor) ALL DONE AND IT WORKS 

Watched the video 4 or 5 times and I finally GOT IT!!! only took me 8 minutes TOTAL :) Thank you !!! 

Using your video guided me through the repair. 

After a struggle, I finally got the door opened. Since the dishwasher was stainless steel, I had to remove all of screws around the door. The handle actuator was broken. I installed the parts listed and the door would open. However, before you keep the door latch all the way depressed and the door would open. But with the new parts, you have to release the handle a bit before the door will open. I am not sure why 

I watched the repair video on APP.com and checked the components of the door latch. There are 4 total parts and not knowing which of the 4 I needed, I ordered all of them. Turns out the actuator and the spring were the parts I needed. 

Removed control panel, replaced the handle, actuator, spring and bracket. Hardest part was figuring out how the parts reassembled, since they were broken off and the spring was missing. Overall a fairly easy repair, that I had been putting off for 4 years. 

I replaced it with the parts I ordered from appliancepartspros.com.

Once established, everything bolted together and there's new life to the family dishwasher. You can't have harmony without a dishwasher in my house and Parts Pros saved me from having to buy and install a new one. Will come back for all appliance parts needs. 

I had to break the handle to pull it and the latch out so I could manually open the door. Then I watched the video - my door panel was different but the video did help on identifying the latch, spring and handle assembly.
