How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2039084 / WD12X271 Lower Dishrack Roller W/Axle

Definitely easier than a tub-spider for a front load washer. The supports for the upper rack that fit into the slides/rails had failed. Of the four supports, the 2 rear were okay. Rust underlying the coating made 1 fixture difficult to remove, but just need a little persuasion. Lower rack rollers are just snap in. Old and tired, they were popping off too easily. New ones, 6, make it nice. Probably could have only replaced the front four. 

Extremely simple. Inserted little flange into center hole in wheel, which took a couple of light taps with a hammer. Placed in position on dishwasher tray and snapped flange to secure on tray. Difficult to do anything wrong. 

Ordered a new wheel from AppliancePartsPros.com. It was quick and easy to replace. 

Took picture of model/serial number tag... On line with Appliance Pro's, entered model number and BAM found part!!! Received part sooner than expected and repaired. Note: the replacement part is way better than original. Means to say the roller wheel fit the runner track exact! 

Got replacement wheels and installed 

Well, the old ones had pretty much just fallen off anyway, so removal was easy. The hardest part was pulling out the trash can. LOL. The wheel came in two parts just as shown in the diagram. I popped the attachment arm into the wheel, and whalla! The rack rolls again! 

Easy. Put the wheels on screwed in the cap and Voila!!! Dishwasher ready to go! 

Replaced lower washer assembly and replaced the rollers 

I found your website and ordered the proper wheel assemblies, 6 total, for my 19 year old GE DW. It still is working just fine. A $50.00 fix that saved me the cost of a new dishwasher. 

I ordered the parts and it was a snap...literally. The bottom roller was much easier because it was front and center. The top rack roller replacement was harder but not difficult. The roller went in easily and the only hard part was reattaching the end cap to the extension arm. Job done
