The dishwasher has been through 9 years of near-daily use. When we removed the fine filter (under the lower spray arm) for cleaning, part of the sump crumbled off. I didn't know what it was, but using the information on this site, I determined it was the sump. Then I used the helpful video to take the dishwasher apart. I checked for other parts that might also be deteriorating, and I found a few: The drain pump (same soft plastic where it connects to the sump), the filter basket (the seal was broken and sticky), and the pump connector. I ordered all of those. Actually, the pump connector was probably OK but it's pretty cheap and easy to replace when you have the dishwasher apart.
Notes/observations:
- My drain pump was not the same as the one in the video, but the correct part was listed here.
- My dishwasher was hard-wired to the electric power, so I had to remove three wire nuts to pull the dishwasher out of the cabinet. First I turned the circuit breaker off and confirmed the dishwasher didn't have power. I removed the kick plate (two screws) and then removed one more screw to open the cover plate that hides the wiring.
Shipping was lightning fast, and prices were competitive with other online stores that don't offer helpful videos and exploded parts diagrams.
