How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3185201 / WD18X10010 Pump Connector

With the easy to follow video, I was able to remove the old sump and replace with the new one. Part was an exact match and now I am up and running again. Delivery was super fast also. 

I found the Appliance Parts Pro site on the internet and look into what could be causing the leak. There were two areas that were mentioned could be the problem. The Pump Connector and the Tub Gasket. I found the videos on how to replace them and watched them a few times. felt that I could do the repairs and ordered the parts for a two day delivery. The parts came as promised, I got out the tools suggested out and went to the task. I had the videos up and ready on my tablet just in case. Every thing went just as it was described in the video except that my supply line, drain and power cord had to go through two openings with a space in between and at an angle, so that was a bit tricky, but not the fault of the video but my kitchen design. The opening under the sink was a bit small for me due to a center post, but we got it done.Since I went ahead and replaced the tub gasket I did two projects at once and also took the time to use CLR to clean out the inside of the dishwasher to make it really nice and new again. 

Ordered new part, Pump Connector and replaced the bad one. the only issue I ran into was that the video did not specify that the clamp needs to be remain open until the pump connector is properly positioned. Because the pump connector uses a theaded connection to a piece on the inside of the dishwasher, and that piece needs to be positioned in a very specific way to line up with another piece inside the washer, you have to leave the clamp open until the other piece is positioned and screwed down. only then can the clamp be tightened. 

Replaced with new part 

Replaced the torn pump connector. 

I replaced the pump connector, exactly as described by your video. It worked! 

Bad part and went ahead and replaced all rubber parts. 

Followed video from your site and replaced sump connector. Very straightforward. Only thing extra I had to do was make sure the top pump connector was very tight. Then that part was fixed.

Bought and replaced all the parts I thought could be failing in the near future, as well as the bad part. To test the fine filter assembly I used a hose and put water to the outlet. It was mostly plugged, so I replaced it. I broke a tang on the Fine Filter Hub Nut, so that is included. The Pump connector showed serious deterioration on the inside, and the Inlet Sump was split. The You Tubes were the silver bullet, as I forget details. The videos were shot well and I could check to see that everything was proper. I might add that I installed a water alarm ($11.00) as a final touch.
