I used a thin screwdriver to pop the white trim open from the track holding the door handles. I slid the screwdriver down to pry the white trim off. I used a “star” type of screwdriver to remove the screw. Once the handles have been removed, be sure to remove the chrome cap from each end, so they can be attached to the new handle and screwed back on the doors. Read More... I was amazed at how quickly we received them - ordered them on a Saturday night, they arrived Monday afternoon! My husband did struggle a bit with getting the old handles off but found a YouTube that helped. The new ones went on without any problem ... and my refrigerator loos much better! Great service. The clip that holds the switch in is on the right side. Door handle: used small flat head and remove the 2 narrow white covers for each handle. Starting from the top, gently insert a flat head under the white cover and seperate it from chrome molding. Once seperated you can pull the white cover off. Remove the 2 screws hollding the handle. Carefully remove the 2 chrome pieces on each handle and put them on the new ones. To reinstall white covers: starting from the handle insert and push down and press in as you work your way up. BUT we still had to call GE Hotline to find out how to get the old handles off to replace with the new ones. Appliance Parts Pros should include instructions with the parts.
