How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3203326 / WB17T10006 Surface Burner Terminal Block Kit

I took the old Terminal block out and put the new one back in. it's about 15 minutes job. it was a really simple thing to do. I don't know why it always get the Terminal Block burn in every 3 or 4 months. I have to replace it all the times. I am very disappoint about the Electric Stove. The brand I have, is Hotpoint. I think about changing to Gas Stove instead soon. 

Replaced the terminal block. The old one had burned out. Repair was simple and the repair video was helpful. 

Replaced surface burner terminal block and also replaced large surface element. Short video provided on how to replace surface burner terminal block was definitely great help as it made things really easy to remove and replace broken part with new one. 

Replaced wiring harness to burner. 

First, I replaced the wires using wire I had on hand, splicing, extending, as I could. I retried to see if I could get a "surface burner terminal block kit" with recepticals, wire and end connectors. It wa available and I ordered 4 sets. It took some time for the kits to arrive, yet it was a week earilr than predicted by the system. A card in the package indicated that installatilon instructions were available, just TEXT 'parts'. I tried that but it wouldn't work, I was unable to get the instructions. I had worked the recepticals enough in my rewiring to discover that there was a polarity that had to be honored: If the wires were reversed, then setting the control on "low" actually produced a "high" setting. There are two terminals on the control in the back of the storve, one "higher" and one "lower". I determined by simple experiment that the "left" wire in the socket went to the "upper" terminal on the control. I found that the wires in the kit were excessive long but I left it and did not try to shorten them. All the burners were fully restored to proper functioning. 

It was an easy fix 

Bought a new one. 

Ordered the receptacle/terminal block kit 

I removed the element to clean the stove and realized that the terminal block was ruined, due to a shorting issue which created an unsafe situation, so I ordered this terminal block kit and replaced the terminal block. It really couldn't have been any easier to do than it was with this kit, and by watching the video provided by AppliancePartsPros.com in the listing for this part. With very few tools this task is simple. If you don't have the tools, buy them and then do the task, and you'll still pay a lot less for the completion of the task than it would cost to have a repairman do the job, and you'll achieve professional results with this kit, too. The only tools I needed for the job were what I had on hand, which was a small 1/4" drive socket set, which is inexpensive anyway if you buy from a place like Harbor Freight or a local discount chain. If you replace this terminal block due to it being damaged by shorting, you should probably make very sure that the short didn't damage your surface element too. If you have any doubt about the serviceability of the surface element contacts that are inserted into the terminal block, then replace the surface element too, or you will likely end up doing this terminal block replacement twice.
