June K Howell , MI February 20, 2016 Appliance: General Electric General Electric JVM1533BD004 I was warming up some spaghetti in the microwave when i heard a loud noise i quickly turned it off but the glass turntable was tipped and the thingy which i later learned was a coupler was shattered The coupler looked like it was just a pressed fit and a screw driver popped it right out. I went on line with the name and model number and found a diagram of the microwave and also the name and number of the part.. I ordered it on line and it arrived by FedX in a couple of days. It popped right in and is now working well. Clip the holder for the cover on the bottom, unscrew the old motor and disconnect it from the spindle and power wires then reverse the procedure. Use the provided(factory installed) screws to hold the cover. All is good now. We used the AppliancePartsPros video as a guide to replace the motor and the turntable coupler. It works great now! Our microwave is installed above our oven and includes a frame around the microwave. The hardest part and what took most of the time was re-inserting the microwave to align it perfectly in the cabinet. Installing the motor and turntable coupler was simple & smooth. Read More...
