Scott H Kekaha , HI June 20, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Home Laundry Combo GTUP240GM4WW Noisy and leaking water under tub. Initially started on spin cycle then all the time. Tub seal was bad and transmission bearing bad I purchased the parts I thought I needed and found out I did not need to buy the washer, or seal. and not as the transmission came with these parts. I also purchased the spanner wrench TB123A I also needed the Agitator mounting bolt (Agitador WH01X10619 / AP5306325) as my rubber seal was destroyed when it was removed so I had to wait for it to come in to complete the job. After three days of penetrating fluid and a lot of beating on the transmission, it finally came loose. After cleaning all the old parts, the assembly went together easily. Make sure you get the spanner wrench and a large hammer to remove the nut, if you do not you will wish you did. Overall, this took me about 5 days due to the stuck tub and waiting for parts and cleaning old parts. I am sure it saved a lot of $$ compared to hiring someone to do the task. The washer is working great now............ Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
