How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6034630 / WB56X27480 Oven Door Window

Removed the door, set it on a work table, took out 6 screws and dropped the new glass assembly in place. Put it back together (no screws left over) and reinstalled the door. The most difficult thing was cleaning all the little spaces where dirt and dust gathered. 

Ordered replaced glass and replaced myself. 

Repalce with part ordered here, took 20 min. 

The part I ordered came in two days. It was the correct part and perfect delivery. I watched a YouTube video to make sure that I understood a few steps clearly. Then, it was a 15-minute fix. Simple and fast.

There are actually two panes of glass that are sandwiched in a metal frame. The inside of the new glass assembly was not clean so we had to carefully pry the frame apart so the glass could be removed for cleaning. Removing the old glass from the door is quite easy and intuitive. Just remove all the screws you see and keep them in order for reassembly. Taking pictures is always a good idea. Replacing the glass is 15-30 minutes. If you are particular about cleaning everywhere you have uncovered as we were its closer to an hour. Be patient sliding the reassembled door's hinges back into the frame of the oven for the final step. It was the most frustrating step.
