Janet V Barrington , RI November 16, 2016 The hinge on the door broke on my washing machine and the gasket needed to be replaced because it was all moldy The door was the easiest part of the whole repair, it didn't take long at all, the gasket took a long time because we did not have the expansion tool that we needed to remove the wire that goes the around the gasket to hold it in place, there were two of them that we had to remove. With a couple of butter knives and a pair of long nose pliers and a lot of strength we managed to get the old wire off and the new ones on. The gasket wasn't that hard taking the old one off and putting the new one on. In the end it was a lot cheaper ordering the parts and doing the repairs ourselves than it would have been to have someone come in and do it for us, and having to buy a brand new washing machine which we couldn't afford at this time. Also having to order the parts was fast and easy. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers

Prescott B Woodbridge , VA June 01, 2015 Appliance: LG Washer WM1814CW The washer was making a sound like a train when in the spin cycle I viewed videos on the internet sponsored by Appliance Parts Pros that helped me diagnose that it was a set of bad bearings. I took the machine apart and replaced both bearings, the seal at the yoke, the seal between the two tub halves, and the tub to door gasket. I also spent a considerable amount of time cleaning out the soap scum and black/brown gunk throughout the washing machine. Read More... Laura W Pendleton , OR October 31, 2014 Appliance: Model LG WM1812 Cracked door and leaky gasket My father in law helped me and in about 2 hours we were able to take the machine apart far enough to get the gasket off. Putting the new gasket on wasn't bad; getting the clamp on was a challenge! Definitely a two person job!! The rests wasn't bad at all. My appliance guy said I wouldn't want to have to replace the gasket because the necessary tool alone was $80. It took some time and I needed a second set of hands for the clamps, but I was one pretty pleased mama when I was able to do this myself. I figure it saved me at least $100 if not more. Read More... Paul S Naugatuck , CT September 19, 2014 Appliance: Model LG TROMM WM1812CW Humming in spin cycle and water leak Replaced the 2 bearings and seal also replaced the seal in the drum since I separated the drum assembly and found I needed the front gasket because it had a small tear at the top and I watched a half hour video on the repair from appliancepros.com on you tube.. I found it useful and helpful although my machine was slightly different.. Anyone with basic home repair knowledge would be able to use the video and modify what they see to use for their exact machine Read More...
