How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5202555 / MDX61912701 Grille,Vent

I ordered a replacement and installed it. 

Ordered new part and replaced. 

Followed the instructions on your "fix it" video on how to test for a bad micro-sensor. Wola! found one of the three micro-sensors was faulty. Replaced the whole board Assembly,latch just in case the other micro-sensors were ready to go bad. Ten minutes and I was back to using the microwave. 

Unfortunately, had to order the new part. Simple fix. Plate was held on by a single screw and clips that held it in place. 

I ordered a new piece. Be very careful with this vent grill and install it correctly--the hooks that grab the unit by sliding the grille into place are plastic and break easily. If broken you are back at square one. 

Replaced with a new vent grille from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

After years of fussing about the blue duct tape I used to hold the part in place I finally just ordered one. Less than 30 sec install after 4 years of fiddling with it. Got the part in 2 days. 

Ordered a new vent grille. 

I ordered a new part from appliance parts and it came in super fast did a little cleaning and it fit perfect. 

I was able to order an OEM replacement with the help of a great website! The diagrams were easy to read and finding the correct part was simple. I also added a new filter for the microwave since I was replacing the cover.
