First of all, let me say that I'm somewhat handy but certainly no expert and certainly have no experience fixing washing machines. I read a few sites implying that a broken spider flange at the back of older Samsung front-loading washers can cause vibrations like I was seeing on our washer - huge vibrations. So I watched 1/2 of the spider flange replacement video and followed all the instructions to get the washer apart. The video was very clear and easy to follow - even when my washer varied a bit from the unit in the video. I found that, sure enough, my spider flange was breaking so I ordered a new one - along with 6 flange screws since I broke a few while attempting to unscrew them and the seal between the two tub parts that they recommend replacing. Total was ~$150. Got the new parts in 2 days - amazing. Starting putting everything back together following the other 1/2 of the video but found, along the way, that the tube still vibrated alot as I spun it. Long story short, I also needed to replace the balance ring. Got the new part in 24 hours and 15 minutes after I placed the order! Truly amazing! Followed the video again and now our washer works good as new! Total cost of $250 is WAY better than $800+ for a new washing machine. Sure, the whole process took a week considering the two orders and took about 6-8 hours of labor to be sure everything went well per the video. But saving $550+ is well worth the labor.
