Well, first check the filter under the front cover, make sure there are no wrappers, pieces of paper, or plastic in there (I have kids and they wash the darndest things). If clear and the washier still says it fails to drain, then it's time to replace the drain pump assembly. On the Samsung, the motor is in the front of the washer. It's not a difficult job to do, but you will have to take the top of the washer off (two screws in the back, then push the cover to the rear, unscrew the control panel, and place it on the top of the washer, unclamp the front of the gasket (this is a PERFECT time to replace the gasket if it's moldy and beat up/torn) and push the gasket back into the drum, take the three hoses off the pump assembly and unscrew the two screws holding the pump assembly. it slides back then out - replace the motor (use some light grease or gasket seal when assembling) and reassemble - now you have a working drain pump!!!!
