How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5967025 / DC97-17133B Washer Lid Assembly With Top Controls

Removing the four screws and the lid came off easily. 

Read on how others fixed the problem by removing 2 screws on each side near the hinge and replacing the door. Took about 12 minutes with wife's help on holding the door to enable me to attached the 4 screws. 

Once I was able to figure out how the lid was attached, it was fairly easy it. 

This repair took about 5 minutes to do. There are four screws involved. New part does not include the screws, or the white adhesive-backed cover strip that goes over the screws when you are done, so those are still visible but this does not affect function. New part fit perfectly. The replacement lid is not cheap but this was the lowest price I found. 

When I got the replacement part, I noted where the four mounting screw were located. I then removed the tape strips from the cracked lid, removed the screws and slid lid off. Attached new part, done.
