How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4135455 / DA31-00010D Refrigerator Fan Assembly

Removed Back Cover. Removed Fan Assembly.Installed New Part. 

Found the Condenser Fan to be the issue, where the shaft to the fan had become loose over time: replaced the motor assembly along with a new fan blade (old one glued on): very easy and now quiet. 

Changed out the fan and condenser motor and now it is running great. 

Was a simple fix just disconnect all the wiring from mother board pop it out and re connect wiring to the new one and pop it back in. Make sure that you don't have any static electricity built up in your body while touching the board. The condenser fan was fairly easy just have to maneuver it around to get it in place properly. 

Temporarily I placed a small house fan directed to the area bottom back of the unit while I received the replacement part I ordered; when I received the part I replaced and fridge return to work fine, thanks for the web instructions on how to replace the fan. 

The fan casing that came with the fridge (its an 8 year old Samsung side by side with water through the door) cracked and broke and was subsequently repaired by a local shop. When that fan failed and lacking the inclination to buy a new fridge just now, I searched for and found this site and figured out I could replace it myself without much difficulty. So I bought the new parts and popped out the old fan and popped in the new one. Less than 5 minutes start to finish and no more heat where it shouldn't be in the fridge. 

I replaced the condenser fan and fan motor.

Replaced the fan motor. 

I removed the 6 ish screws from the lower panel and heard the rattling coming from the condenser fan motor. To be sure I unplugged its connector and low and behold the noise stopped. Problem isolated. Ordered parts and they came next day. You must slide the assembly about an inch toward the back of fridge to free it from the locking tabs, then tilt it and it comes out. Remove spring from end of fan, spray with oil or something to loosen up it from shaft and pull it off. Be careful as the fan is easy to break. Oil again and slide down shaft of new motor. Use pliers taround shaft to apply back pressure so you won't damage bearings when applying pressure to top of fan. Reinstall your little spring and your set to put back in. 15 minutes tops.
