How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5956100 / W10712394 Dishwasher Upper Rack Adjuster Kit

Replaced with updated roller assemblies.Ran into a problem in that the attachments for the new assemblies were different from original. One call to customer support fixed that - the csr sent me an instruction guide and all went well. Excellent customer support!!! 

Ordered new adjuster kit. Took broken parts off, replaced with new parts from kit. 

I ordered a replacement part on line using the model number on the dishwasher. Although the parts looked different, (original was all plastic, replacement was metal & plastic) with the help of the on line video, the repair was successful. The Refrigerator switch was identical and very easy to install. 

Ordered replacement side roller mechanisms, (metal, not plastic), at the suggestion of the APP sales person. The parts were received the next day. I looked at everything and decided to wait awhile. My wife, however, removed and re-assenbled everything. I replaced the rack into the dishwasher: the door would not close. Using a flashlight to look into the rear of the washer, I noticed that the roller track on each side contained a roller that had broken off the old mechanism. I pulled out the rack, removed the broken-off rollers: job done, door now closes. 

The adjuster kit was just what I needed. Replaced the entire upper rack roller assembly. Watched a video how to install the new adjuster kit online. Made it much easier!! 

I watched the video a few times. Apparently I didn't watch it close enough because I made a pretty bad error. It turned out not to be fatal and the repair was made successfully without harming myself. My wife was impressed. It turned out to be much easier than I made it. 

Ordered a kit from appliance parts pros. I watched the video on the phone to small I turned it on the 22 inch screen . Took ten minutes when I could see it.. 

I watched the excellent video that was on the kit's selling page. The removal of the old brackets was different on my model than on the video so I just broke the plastic parts off. Mounting the new kit on both sides took less than 10 minutes. I followed the video step by step and it was fast and easy to install. The old part was all plastic and the new brackets are metal and much stronger.. 

Ordered the upper rack adjustment replacement kit. It is better quality than the original, steel wheel assembly vs plastic. Online video was very helpful. Highly recommend! 

Looked up parts for my model. Put in the model number an found new part an price. I first called my local repair people they wanted $100 just to come in the door.. I got the new parts within two days. I went back on line an looked up the video on how to replace the broken part an install the new parts. It took me all of 10 minutes Job done.
