How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007401 / WP240309-2 Worm Gear And Bracket Assembly

Replaced all parts in the transmission. 

New parts 

Took mixer apart. found the problem. looked it up online and ordered part from you 

Replaced the entire gear assembly. Found a video of disassembling the mixer and identifying the problem. Watched the video while working. Identified the stripped gear, ordered a new part, replaced it and watched the video while reassembling the mixer. Time includes finding and watching the video a few times, finding an S1 bit, doing the work, watching another video on reinstalling the brushes, and cleanup. The gear case was full of grease and the work was messy. Not difficult but time consuming. Left the disassembled mixer open on the workbench while waiting for the new part. It was an exact match. 

Replaced the worm gear and bracket assembly. YouTube video by Mr. Mixer was very helpful. 

Watched YouTube video on how to repair it, got the parts here, and did it. It is designed to have plastic gear that breaks to protect the rest of the system. Didn't take very long, saved us hundreds of dollars, and didn't require throwing the whole thing away. 

I took my mixer apart and cleaned/replaced parts and now it runs. 

Found AppliancePartsPros on the internet. Read their troubleshooting advice. Watched the remove/replace/pair YouTube video. Disassembled machine. Found worn worm gear. Removed worn gear, Ordered new part(s). Parts arrived in a couple of days. Followed YouTube assembly instructions. 44-year-old Kitchenaid Mixmaster works like new and only cost $60 to repair. The new one is +$400. 

We replaced some gears in our KitchenAid stand mixer.
