How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020669 / WPW10381562 Washer Door Boot

Replaced the bellow and accompanying clamps. The procedure was pretty easy, except the tension spring - it was tricky getting that piece back on without cursing. 

I order a new one , an appliance parts showed me how to put it on an it save me lots of money no out of pocket thanks. 

Appliance parts pro show me a step by step video and it was easy to replace the gasket. I save a few bucks by doing it my self. Thanks Appliance Part Pro.

I watched several how to videos before attempting. I am NOT very handy with repairs, however I refused to pay $200 for something I was pretty sure I could fix if I took my time. Watching several different videos was great in that the video on the website did not match my machine perfectly; nor did the other three videos, but combined they gave me enough info to figure it out. By going SLOWLY I was able to complete the repair in 3 hours. My machine works PERFECTLY!

I followed the provided video, which was for a washer very similar to mine. It was a bit more involved than I expected (had to remove top, entire front panel, door, etc) but the video was very clear, concise, and well filmed. I was very impressed. I had the entire thing done in about an hour. I took extra time and paused the video because I wanted to clean out the overflow trap. Let me say, just do that since you have it accessible. Gross, gross, gross. Ever wonder where the washing machine aether is? It's there. With mold, and hair, slime, and coins. My trick there is to turn the big PVC cap with an adjustable wrench. 

Visually inspected the old bellow and discovered holes/rips. Searched for the part number for this particular model. Part was most affordable at this website $5 - $20 cheaper than elsewhere. Ordered a replacement bellow and it came faster than expected (1.5 days). Watched an instructional video on youtube and got started. Removal was a breeze, tools needed were all straightforward (nothing exotic). Re-attaching the bellow turned out to be the hardest part - a couple of scraped knuckles but eventually got it on and tightened up the clamps (one required very small screwdriver to tighten in a blind setting, the other was more straightforward). Checked to make sure there were no leaks by running a very small load, and then reattached the front fascia. Everything is working well. Again, hardest part was reattaching the new bellow. 

Watched your video, ordered the new bellow, which by the way arrived less than 16hrs. after I ordered it, Thank You very much!. and accomplished the repair within an hr. or so.
