How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6037279 / W10919249 Grate Foot

Ordered them from you. They were too small in diameter. I used a hot glue gun to anchor the feet. The fix is still working. I took a torch to the grate where the feet ride and didn't heat them to glowing but close. I then gooed Gorilla All Temperature Hot Glue into the ports and pushed the feet in holding them in place with a screwdriver until they DID NOT try to pop back out. Part number on the Gorilla bag appears to be1659B 

With the new grate foot ordered from ApplianceParts, it fits perfectly into the slot and cemented it in place so it will not come off again and it does not wobble. 

Replaced the feet. The insertion stem of the feet is a little large for the hole even allowing for a tight fit.. After getting the foot started, I put a drop of vegetable oil in the stem, & used a pair of channel locks with a couple of metal shims (quarters) to protect the grates finish and gently squeezed the foot until it slid into the hole. Probably if I had heated the grate up it would have been easier. 

We ordered a new element which was received in two days. With a screw driver, removed two screws, unplugged the old one and replaced it with the new. The grate feet required a little more work. Using a drill we were able to remove the bottom part of the original feet, increased the diameter of the holes and inserted the new feet. 

Searched the model number for a parts supplier. Ordeered it and installed it. 

Searched the web and learned that the part was no longer made. Used AppliancePartsPros website to find a grate foot that appeared close and asked them, and they agreed it was the closest. It is very hard to tell the difference. The part arrived as ordered, on time. 

Pulled of the broken knobs and stuck on the new ones. Stuck the rubber foot into the empty hole. Everything fit but because of the storms on the west coast it took 11 days for the parts to get to me after they were sent. 

Replacement burner caps and grate bumpers were exactly the right parts, delivered promptly, just as promised! 

Sitting at dinner I began to Google the Maytag stove to see if I could find parts and price a new grate. I was able to find thousands of parts on the website, one being a $3.00 rubber bottom grate feet (foot). I took a chance, ordered, it came in 2 days later and the 1/2 inch difference that appeared where the grates were connected was leveled. The install was easy and the results were more than acceptable.
