Went online to look for a video on how difficult the repair may be. By using the model number, I found AppliancePartsPros.com. They provided the only video that took the repair process from beginning to end. It looked tedious but not too difficult if you are somewhat mechanically inclined....or can turn a few screws. The entire top and front of the washer had to come off. My husband did this will little trouble. Removing the old seal was also no trouble. We discovered, the seal was worn in several places, we found out was because of overloading the machine. The most difficult part was getting the rubbery, flexible seal to cooperate while re-installing. We didn't need a new metal ring but we had ordered one so we put the new clean one on anyway, instead of returning it. Overall, with the use of the video, this took about an hour and that included going back and forth to watch sections of the video while the repair was going on. We checked prices for the two parts we purchased and found them cheaper on Amazon BUT the shipping was a lot more. ApplianceParsPros.com was actually cheaper in the long run. I gave the repair challenge a "2" only because it was more tedious than difficult. One person to help hold the door while hte other unscrews it would be most helpful.
