How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4318657 / W10124096 Condenser Motor Kit

I removed the ventilation plate, bottom front and cleaned off the dirt and dust. I could hear the fan blade in the back making all of the noise. The kit should also come with a small wrench to help remove all of the same size crews. The Job was completed start to finish in just under an hour. 

It turned out to be a cooling fan with a worn shaft bearing. It was still working but clearly on its last leg. Just three screws held the motor in place. I was able to order a replacement fan from Appliance Parts. It was delivered to my door the next day and I installed the new one in less than thirty minutes. 

Replaced the condensor fan motor. Once you get yourself comfortable laying flat on the floor with a light and the correct size nut driver, it is actually a very simple task. 

Once I removed the rear cover, I watched the fan blade as it wobbled on the shaft... Definitely the condenser motor. Parts came quickly, and the installation is very straight forward. Do bear in mind it is tight in there, so take your time. Three bolts are all you need to remove, but you may utter a few expletives during the removal. But, with some patience, it all goes very well. And boy, is it a lot quieter now. Install video on the site was very helpful. Thanks for the assistance!
