How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4318657 / W10124096 Refrigerator Condenser Fan Motor Kit

I replaced it. 

After receiving the fan replacement I made the repair my self. 

Changed condenser fan and now after 6 months of driving me crazy it is once again quiet! Easy repair 

Ordered a condenser motor kit it was fairly easy after watching the video thanks for the help

I check everything out on refrigerator.The condenser fan wasn't running .I checked for power and it had 110 volts fan would not run and was wobbly at the shaft a lot of play in it.I check out timer it had continuity on a pair of contacts and infinity on opposite contacts so timer motor was working .what was wrong with timer was it was getting stuck in defrost mode probably plastic gear worn out. I ordered parts and put in .The timer motor was universal so was my Kenmore diagram, said power is on 1 on the terminal plug so I slid slotted wire on that terminal, well refrigerator would not run so I took a screwdriver, advanced timer til I heard a click compressor started and refrigerator runs like new again. Timer is hidden, when you pull the knobs off the control panel where you adjust temp control, you will slide your pocket knife behind that metal plate that has numbers on it telling you your setting once plate just pops in groove behind plate is two screws you have to remove to get to timer motor 

Replace motor and fan. Fit perfect, works perfect. 

Whirpool Refrigerator Model GS5SHAXNL00, manufactured 11/2004. The shaft of the original 12 year old condensor motor had way too much 'play', allowing the fan to spin out of balance and creating a horrible noise when the fan kicked in, like the bearings were shot, if such a small motor has bearings. I ordered the Condensor Motor Kit. The shaft of the new motor had no 'play' in it's condition confirming my diagnosis of the original motor. After unplugging the refrigerator I carefully removed the old motor and fan and installed new motor and fan. Since the screws were self starting into plastic, I started the screws in the new motor outside of the refrigerator and then removed them prior to installation. Once the motor was in it's proper place in it's mount under the refrigerator, the three screws were easily started and the motor and fan were secured. The refrigerator is once again whisper quiet. 

Put new one on 

Replaced the fan. Works great now. It's quiet and refrigerator is colder.
