Charley A Keller , TX June 12, 2014 Broken ice enclosure in the freezer I carefully examined the broken piece. I looked up similar repairs on You Tube then searched for parts and ordered from AppliancePartsPro.com. Arrival was prompt. The motor was separated from the enclosure with the break so I removed the screws from the motor housing and the actuator. Some screws were stubborn. Be careful, the actuator comes apart, just make sure you observe how it is put together. Take the motor and yoke assembly out of the freezer after disconnecting the quick disconnect by pressing on the sides and pulling. Removing the yoke was tricky. I tried to use pliers to hold the shaft without success. Finally I used a screwdriver between the blades of the yoke and quickly rotated it clockwise. The yoke loosened easily. The motor/shaft assembly was then installed into the new enclosure with the existing screws as was the actuator assembly. The yoke was then screwed on to the shaft. Space is a problem but I then wedged the enclosure into the freezer and reached in to reattach the quick connector. All in all this was somewhat frustrating but doable and probably saved a bunch of money. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
