How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3122982 / 882657 Foot Pedal Kit

I ordered the part from Appliance Pros, and it arrived a few days later. We were headed out for the weekend but I grabbed a Phillips screwdriver and installed the screws real quick before we left. when we got back on Sunday, my wife asked who fixed the trash compactor. It went so fast, they never even saw me working on it!! It was an exact match and even included new screws. Thanks, Mike 

Replace the white color covers with the new parts. 

I replaced the power nuts and retainers. Also replaced a broken foot pedal while I had the compactor pulled out. Your YouTube videos were a great resource, as well. 

Replaced the part with a new one. total time almost 4 minutes 

I replaced all of the parts. 

2 screws and it was fixed at the best price I found for the part anywhere! And it arrived early. 

Perfect fit. Very easy job. 2 screws (included) and it was installed. Works better than original. 

I fixed it myself. 

Replaced all rollers and foot pedal. All new components however still not 100%. Screw holes in compactor walls have elongated somewhat and might eventually need to address that to realign for leverage. Fixable but don't think parts sold to replace metal walls of compactor. Larger screws or collars might finish the repair.
