How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022803 / WPW10545291 Fuse-Thrml

Replaced the thermal fuse. This is the 4 time our whirlpool Gold double oven has blown the thermal fuse in 2 1/2 yeats. Tired of paying for extended warranties & waiting for 3-4 weeks to get it repaired. If you remove the screws holding the oven in & just slide it out 4-6 inches, you don't have to fully remove it from the wall. 

Wife self cleaned whirlpool double oven,after top was completed she started bottom when oven went dead no power. I checked online for common problem found two resolutions. I took multimeter and tested found them fuse went bad. Ordered new part from Appliance Parts and was here in less than 24 hours part arrived (standard shipping). I installed new part tested and reinstalled. I will use Appliance Parts Pros as my appliance repair supplier. Website easy to manipulate and find what your looking for. They have CRAZY FAST shipping. I replaced all three thermal fuses even though I believe two of them were okay. It was easy. All I had to do was extract the double oven from the wall (that was the hardest part). I put it on some cardboard to protect my floor. Then I took off three panels with about 40 screws. There was one fuse on the back of each oven and other up by the motherboard. The parts took about 5 minutes to replace and another hour to put it all together again. Easy and I am not a mechanic. Saved me much money.

After pulling the double oven out of the wall and disassembling the back to test the upper and lower thermostats (which I found to be working properly) I replaced the thermal fuse behind the display. It was inconvenient to pull the whole unit but there was no other way to be sure they were ok before the arrival of the thermal fuse. After a bit of internet research, I found that blowing the thermal fuse during self-cleaning is a common problem with KitchenAid/Whirlpool ovens (but there is strangely no mention of it in the owner’s manual). 

After watching serviceman replace a fuse right on the top of top oven by removing a couple screws and charging me $ 198.00. I ordered thru AppliancePartsPro at 4 pm Tuesday, I received the fuse the next day at 9:30 the next morning. TOTAL COST $ 22.00. THIS IS A NO-BRAINER !!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU 

Replaced fuse 

Got a new fuse from AppliancePartsPros.com and managed to get the doors opened so we could get to the fuse. I had originally chosen a fuse online that looked like the one we had but after talking with one of the techs at AppliancePartsPros.com they told me that for my unit I needed another fuse which looked the same as the one I had chosen but was for the model I had so I'm glad I spoke to them!!! They saved me time and effort making sure I had the correct part for my unit! 

I made a pizza in my wall oven in a cast-iron skillet at 550 deg. After that, my wall oven went blank. No power. Clock, lights, everything, blank. Normally, I would have called an appliance repair company. But I watched a youtube video and the first one said that many times after baking at high temps, the FUSE would blow. Replacement seemed fairly straightforward, 8 screws and the fuse was front and center. I ordered a new fuse from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was in my mailbox in a couple of days. WATCHED YOU TUBE VIDEOS TO SOLVE PROBLEM. ORDERED THERMAL FUSE, RECEIVED IT THE NEXT DAY FROM APPLIANCE PARTS PROS, INSTALLED PART IN 30 MINUTES AND WAS BACK IN BUSINESS. WIFE COOKED PUMPKIN PIE FOR REWARD.
