How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009238 / 12002749 Flume Hose Kit

Using a standard screwdriver, I pushed the clips at the front of the washer to unlock it from the whole base. I lifted that whole lid up and saw that the flume hose had a hole in it from rubbing against the drum. I didn't know what the parts were but I got them from the diagram and ordered them. Pinched off the hose clamps, pulled off the flume hose, unscrewed the old flume assembly, screwed the new one on in place, slipped the hose clamps over the new flume hose, attached the new flume hose, then clamped the hose in place. Works perfectly. 

After finding a video online from you all I found the problem. I ordered the necessary parts, watched the video (which didn’t match my washer exactly but gave me enough info to find the right way to get in). Once I knew I was in the right spot to replace my parts the actual replacement took 15 minutes tops! It was as easy as the videos make it look and I felt handy as heck when I was done!! 

Removed and replaced with new one. Took 15 minutes. 

Ordered flume assembly Kit . So far I have not had any water on the floor in front of the washing machine! 

Easy fix. Pulled clamps off old and installed new hose. 

Replaced the hose and flume assembly because there was so much hard water deposits in the area of the leak I couldn't figure out which was leaking. It was easy to get to, all I had to do was use a flat scraper to push the release clips on each side on the front of the top, then raise it up. Followed the hose down to the water inlet valve, use pliers to remove the clamp, then cut hose free from valve. Next use a 1/4 inch nut driver to remove screws holding flume assembly to the top. Reassemble in reverse order. NOTE be sure to get an extra 1 inch hose clamp, the hose only ships with one.
