How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018755 / WPW10287601 Ice Chute Seal

I bought the complete ice chute. It was easy to install and it works perfectly now. Many thanks. 

Replaced the ice chute door seal and the internal flap seal behind the front select panel. Warm air was seeping into ice maker and melting cubes together. 

Bought the replacement part, snapped in place in under 2 minutes. 

Ordered the new piece from Appliance Parts after watching a video on how to repair it. 

It went great everything fit nice 

Replaced ice maker Assembly. Upon in doing found the old assembly had two loose screws could been a cheap quick fix. Anyway it’s working and cheaper than calling the Maytag Man, who died about five years ago. Thank you Appliance Pro. 

There was a video showing how to install it and it took less than 1 minute to complete the job. 

I replaced the fridge thermistor and this seal. This seal is a new, better design. I felt air was leaking around the old seal. My old thermistor was reading 15,000 ohms @ ice, the new one read 17,000. While this difference was in the right direction of my temperature issue I think this seal fixed my issue. I'm surprised in all my Google searches this seal never came up as a probable cause for freezing food. The seal is a bit tricky to replace, it is very hard to get the plastic ring out and also a little hard to push the new ring and seal combination back in place. I pried with a screwdriver and left a few marks under the seal nothing that will show.
