How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006212 / WP22001304 Washer Water Injector

Replace the Water Injector unit. 

I replaced the water spout, which was actually broken. The repair worked great! 

I ordered a new water injector from APP (fair price) and received it in just two days. Watched a quick tutorial video from them and changed the part in just a few minutes. The whole process could not have gone any better. Thanks APP. 

Although I'm an engineer and can fix most things, I was truly impressed by the repair video. Nowhere have I ever seen such well done videos that so clearly explain the way to do a repair. 

I called for assistance and spoke with Kayla, who was so helpful. After sending her pictures of the situation, she was able to identify what I needed and made it very easy to order the necessary part. Then, on top of that good experience, the part arrived three days later - a very fast response!! The video provided extremely clear instructions about how to install the new part, and although there were a lot of steps, it was very clear and made easy in this video. I decided to submit this story because I was impressed with this experience every step of the way - which s should happen, but I think rarely does happen. 

Started with front panel, two screws at bottom. Then disconnected the two bolts securing the top to the side panels. Then took the back panel off the control panel. Disconnected the hose that connects to the wash size dial. Disconnected the bolt holding the filler on. The plastic tab was broken. Then opened the top up, disconnected the hose clamp from the mixing valve, which was tricky. Then reinstalled the new filler spout. 

Glad I ordered the full injector assembly. It was exactly what I needed and much cheaper than buying the upper/lower injector parts separately. The installation video was nice and easy to follow as well. 

I found a video by AppliancePartsPros on YouTube for the exact problem. It even had a link to the correct part number which costs around $30.00. The video showed exactly how to do the repair. I probably saved a couple of hundred bucks doing it myself. Thanks, AppliancePartsPros!

Ordered new one ! Best part is the repair video on the AppliancePartsPros site, I probably could have muddled along and got it done, but the video helped me get it done quickly without any missteps.
