How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011245 / WP74011278 Oven Light Assembly

Replaced the whole assembly. I would not have attempted it, if I hadn’t seen the video on your site. Was easy after seeing that! 

I watched the help video to find out how to remove the old light assembly. Glad I did. It made the repair very easy. The hardest part of the repair was getting my body inside the oven to reach the light assembly and clip the wires on the new unit. It took about ten minutes to complete the replacement of the light and test it. It works great. 

Watched your 'how to' video at least 50 times. And, I still wasn't all that confident. Murphy's Law, don't 'cha know. My Amana electric stove oven light was a little different than the one in the video, but the video gave me the insight to pry the flanges. By golly, it worked! Out came old - in went the new! A slam dunk! No sweat! 

Ordered new socket and replaced it in about 5 minutes using only a screw driver so easy to do 

Ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pro [APP]. The website made me confident I had the right part. I viewed a video at APP which indicated I had to access the part from the back of the oven--not so. Fearing this on a built-in with a vent system, I hired a pro. He accessed and changed the part from inside the oven. Took approximately 15-20 minutes and $68 plus the part. Glad I had him do it even though it was an easy fix. 

I ordered an Appliance Parts Pros oven light assembly then followed their YouTube video to the letter. 

No problem with control panel. Old light was a bear to get out but new one was no sweat. Catch on lower panel was easy. 

1. I removed the door and replaced hinge and spring assembly took about 30 min. Only tool used was #2 Philips. 2. I shut off power to oven and removed lite lens and bulb. The old socket broke loose from age. It took a little twisting and pulling with needle nose pliers to remove l then plugged in new lite and snapped into place. Took about 30 min. All parts fit perfectly. Thanks Parts Pros. 

Remove oven light assembly as per your on line video instructions (invaluable information). Replace with your new part as per your instructions (exactly as described). No problems. Thank You.
