How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP7205922 / W11581317 Lp Gas Conversion Kit

I ordered the conversion kit from Appliance Parts pros on Monday the part arrived on Friday. On Saturday morning i read all the directions. I removed the front kick panel and inspected everything while looking at the diagrams. seemed easy enough. after careful inspection i thought i would try this without taking apart the the top and drum. (mine sits on the drawer pedestals) the DIY God were smiling on me. i was able to replace the two parts with ease. plugged it in turned it on and sat back to watch the flames. all went well and the dryer works great. 

Simple process about 1.5 hours to complete took my time. All works good! 

Contacted customer service because the "Does this part fit my..." didn't recognize the model number. The operator verified the part was correct and would fit my new dryer. I ordered the part expected it to take a week and a half. I left for the weekend and found the delivery on my porch on Sunday morning 2 days after I ordered it.. Good delivery service. Don't forget to use a putty blade for the latches under the lid of the dryer 

A big box retailer sold me the wrong LP conversion kit for my brand new gas dryer. Their online tool claimed the kit was compatible with the dryer I purchased (bought them together). It was impossible to get a parts diagram from either the manufacturer or the retailer to verify what was claimed, and I mistakenly trusted them. After learning I had the wrong kit, I angrily searched internet appliance repair forums for stories like mine (turns out I wasn't alone) and found a recommendation for AppliancePartPros. AppliancePartPros had the correct part number, complete with a current parts diagram and the old LP conversion kit listed as "replaced by" followed by the correct kit SKU. Absolutely insane that Maytag/Whirlpool wants people to struggle to find the information needed to modify, service, or repair your stuff. In the future for my appliance needs I will order here, my order arrived within 3 days with detailed instructions but most importantly it was actually the part I needed! 

Everything worked flawlessly. All parts worked and the directions were simple to follow. Very happy with my purchase. 

Ordered up the LP Gas conversion kit, and thank God there was a video on how to do the procedure, as the directions supplied with the kit were about as clear as mud. After watching the video it was a very simple straight forward project that if I hadn't needed to do a bunch of cleaning inside the dryer wouldn't have taken long at all. I did have to do a fairly extensive disassembly of the dryer but that just made it easier to clean, and the video made it very clear on how to do it. 

Conversion kit. Pull panels and the tub, replace two fittings (comes with three fittings, LP is #55 stamped on side of fitting) and rebuild the machine. Kit comes with instruction booklet for several models (yes there are pictures and yes it’s pretty easy). I would say if you’er not good at home repair, gas / LP work is better done by a professional. Im a handyman and have worked on hundreds of appliances. A homeowner can do this in an hour with a couple of tools! Read the directions step by step and don’t rush it. 

This is the second I have ever done and it took a little longer because of where it sat in my front loader. Just take your time and it will be fine. Make sure to always turn off your gas while working. 

Ordered the parts, followed the enclosed directions and did the conversion. It was an involved process but not overly complicated. Took about an hour because of an extensive tear down. 

Purchased Conversion Kit from Appliance Parts Pros was an exact fit. Takes far longer to disassemble and reassemble the dryer than make the conversion. Follow the included instructions and it is an easy project.
