I'm surprised this went so well. I bought the Medium Cam Agitator Repair Kit and Agitator Base for a Whirlpool washer. I'm not sure I really needed the base. The kit is what fixed the problem. The video on how to install the kit helped immensely. Even still, it was a little tricky. I was not sure how the agitator is supposed to move, nor could I find video that showed how. I think the agitator may have not been functioning for years. It finally got so loose that there was obviously something wrong. I would post a video here but that does not seem possible. Suffice it to say, the top piece of the agitator will spin clockwise without moving the base, but when you turn it counter-clockwise it also spins the base. Also, the gal I spoke to on the phone was a big help in finding the parts.
