How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3119799 / 8183851 Microwave Vent Grill

Replaced it with new one. 

I ordered through AppliancePartsPros online using the model numbers off refrigerator and microwave. 

Received part from Appliance Parts Pros, installed grill vent in 5 minutes, very easy. 

Replaced grille. 

Ordered new part. Inserting new part was a bit tricky. Be careful to remove broken clips from holes (not that easy to see). Insert bottom clips first, then carefully hold open metal top of microwave itself and lever top of grill into place. New specialized screws were not included in package so had to improvise. Small fingers help. 

15 yr. old microwave is fine and vent system also. Vent grill had a crack, on top, probable cause was probably previous owners or renters attempting to clean unit, and did not know how to remove vent grill (Black). Tried to glue old one, did not work, so spent $35 and replaced with new one - took less than 3 minutes to install. 

Ordered new door and grill replacement. Had to pry the plastic cover off the new door to get access to the metal hinges that I didn't need. Took the new hinges out. Popped the new door onto the old hinges left on the microwave. Then pushed the cover over the door and replaced the 3 screws and looked good as new. Might have taken 15 min maybe. 

I checked all of the major websites (Amazon, etc) and couldn’t find the right part. I came across this website and surprisingly they had the part available and at a great price. The part arrived relatively quickly. Installation was a breeze. 

We had a 7.0 earthquake in Alaska last month. Had to fix a lot of stuff at home and finally fixed the broken microwave grill. I was just too lazy fixing it before the earthquake. Ha-ha! Fits like it was there. Shipping was fast and well packaged as you would expect. 

Purchased and installed a new grilled. Took five minutes to install by inserting grille and attaching with the two existing screws.
