How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3119799 / 8183851 Microwave Vent Grille

Ordered new part and attached new part to unit. Less than 5 minutes. 

We ordered a new one and received it 3 1/2 days later. Thank you for the speedy delivery. 

Uncomplicated easy fix. I am skilled in repairing many things. 

The tabs that held the cover on had cracked over time so not much was holding it in place. I ordered the replacement, got it in just a couple of days, and installed in less than 5 minutes. The new vent is actually nicer than the OEM since it does not have a shiny finish and does not show the dust as easily.

Replaced 

We replaced the vent grill with a new one 

It was an easy fix. I removed 4 Philips head screws from the top of the grill itself. The old grill came off by prying with a flat head screw driver. The new grill needs to be inserted carefully. The bottom of the grill has a small lip on it. Insert the bottom lip first, then the top snaps into place. Re-install the 4 Philips head screws and job is done. Check to make sure the door opens and closes properly.
